Amberald for iPad
How does the free trial work?
On first launch, Amberald tells you how long the trial lasts, what it includes and what the full version costs. You start it yourself with Start 14 day free trial. It includes every feature for 14 days and costs nothing. Nothing is charged when it ends: Amberald simply stays locked until you buy the full version, and your photos and catalog stay on your iPad either way.
I bought Amberald, but it asks me to buy again
Tap Restore purchases on the purchase screen. The full version belongs to your Apple ID, so it works on every iPad signed in with it, and after a reinstall. Family Sharing is included.
Refunds for the iPad app
Purchases in the App Store are handled by Apple, so Apple also handles refunds. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For purchases of the desktop version, see our refund policy.
Hand a session over to my computer
- On your computer, open Amberald and switch on Settings, Share & Sync, Accept handovers from iPad. The same section shows the computer's address under Reachable at.
- Make sure the iPad and the computer are on the same network.
- On the iPad, open the Imports tab, open the menu of an import (touch and hold it) and choose Hand over to desktop. Your computer appears in the list.
- The first time, enter the PIN that your computer shows. After that, the two know each other.
If your computer does not appear, your network may block device discovery (guest networks often do). Type the address from Reachable at into the field below the list instead.
Shoot tethered over FTP
- On the iPad, open Import, choose FTP receive (camera) and tap Start receiving. The screen shows the address and port of your iPad.
- Enter that address in the FTP settings of your camera. Camera and iPad need to be on the same network, for example the iPad's personal hotspot.
- Every photo you take arrives in Amberald while you shoot.
Keep Amberald open on screen while you shoot. iPadOS pauses apps in the background, and photos sent during that time do not arrive. Most cameras send them again once the connection is back. While receiving, Amberald keeps the screen from locking.
AI features
The AI models for search, people, masks and denoise are downloaded once, when you first use them (about 1.5 GB in total, you choose which ones). After that, everything runs on your iPad, without an internet connection and without uploading your photos.
Requirements
Amberald for iPad needs iPadOS 17 or later. The desktop version runs on Windows, on macOS 14 or later with Apple silicon, and on Linux.
